For many Munich residents, Schwabing is not just a district, but a way of life: afternoons in the café, strolling along the shopping mile, balmy evenings in the English Garden. And apart from the lively Leopoldstrasse, Schwabing is a rather quiet residential area.

The appeal of the typical Schwabing clichés is so strong that the "perceived Schwabing" even extends as far as Türkenstraße and thus almost as far as the museum quarter in Maxvorstadt and Elisabethmarkt in Schwabing-West. Yet the boundaries of the district are much narrower: The "official" Schwabing lies between the Isar and the English Garden in the east and borders on Schwabing-West along Friedrichstraße and Mainzer Straße. In the south, the Siegestor marks the border to Maxvorstadt and the university quarter, where Ludwigstraße also merges with Leopoldstraße. Finally, to the north of Schwabing is the district of Freimann.

An underground parking space can be provided optionally for 150 euros.
